Bespoke Jewellery

I offer a bespoke jewellery service where I pair your ideas with my craft skills to create your perfect piece of unique jewellery.

This could be anything from a christening gift to a wedding ring, a bridesmaids brooch to a hinged keepsake locket. I work in silver or gold and can incorporate gemstones, such as a person’s birthstone, or simply a stone of their favourite colour.

I can collaborate with you as closely or remotely as you wish, some customers prefer to meet in person initially to discuss their requirements, while others are happy to interact throughout via email.

You may have strong idea of what you want and how the finished piece should look, or you may have a theme you would like followed but are happy to leave the designing to me, either way I will always run potential designs past you for approval before starting to make the item.

I advise that you allow a maximum of two months from start to finish for a bespoke project, this allows me to spend the appropriate time on planning as well as making, finishing and hallmarking the item.

However it is understandable that sometimes an idea for a special keepsake jewellery item only presents itself nearer to the event, and I will always try to accommodate in such circumstances.

Use the contact form at the bottom of this page to enquire and I’ll be happy to discuss your project with you.

Here are some examples of past commissions:

Aldan and Emily’s Committment Ring

One of my most enjoyable bespoke commissions….
When my younger brother Aldan asked me late last year… just before christmas if I could make a commitment ring for him and his wonderful partner Emily…. of course I could!

I thoroughly enjoyed designing this open-backed cabochon ring using sterling silver. The design brief was fairly relaxed and gave me a lot of room to do what I needed to meet their requirements, which were: it needed to contain a Peridot gemstone (Emily’s birthstone) with as low a profile setting as possible, but also with a thin band.

There was also to be an inscription inside it with their initials and a date. Well this is what I came up with, I thoroughly enjoyed designing and making this, and what an honour to be asked to make your sibling’s commitment ring!

Barbara’s Emerald Pendant and Earrings Set

Here are some photos of another enjoyable commission for a friend who wanted something special for her daughter Hannah’s 18th Birthday gift.

Barbara chose emeralds as they were her daughters birthstone (the birthstone for those born in May), and she had already decided that she would like the stones set in square shapes similar to some of my other designs of that time, but it was Barbara who designed the three overlapping squares for the pendant, so this was quite a collaborative piece, and one of the reasons I love to make bespoke pieces, there is always something unique and exciting and that has never made before.
